Office of Developmental Programs

  • The Arc is the national organization of and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The association also fosters research and education regarding the prevention of developmental disabilities in infants and young children.

  • The Pennsylvania Department of Human Service's Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) supports a comprehensive array of services and supports for people with developmental disabilities. The Developmental Programs system is funded through federal, state and county funds.

  • The Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) is focused on creating opportunities for the Commonwealth’s youngest children to develop and learn to their fullest potential.

  • "The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, or OVR, provides vocational rehabilitation services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors. Services are provided on an individualized basis."

  • The PARC Consent Decree of 1972 established the State Task Force and 29 Local Task Forces, whose purpose is to assure a free and appropriate public education for students with disabilities. Each Local Task Force consists of parents, families, a representative of The Arc and support personnel. There is a local task force at each Intermediate Unit; this map shows each school district and their corresponding Intermediate Unit.
